My Two Cents:

I was fortunate enough to listen to this audiobook. This was my first one so I didn't know if it would add or take away from the story. In this case, I think it added to it. The accents made the story so much more real. Two different voices told from Rosie's and Scarlett's point of views. Ever since that tragic day when they first encountered a fenris, Scarlett has lived to hunt. It's what she lives for, and doesn't see any other purpose in life. Her younger sister Rosie feels forced into doing it because she feels as though she owes Scarlett her life for saving her years ago. Then childhood friend, Silas comes back from vacation to hunt with them and then things become....complicated. He presents a life outside of hunting that Rosie wants but isn't sure she should have.


I liked listening this novel. The fight scenes were entertaining. It was definitely like listening to a movie. I saw the old cottage in Ellison and I had a clear picture of the neighborhood in Atlanta. I identified the most with Rosie because she felt torn. On one hand she owes Scarlett her life and wants to please her. On the other hand she's a teenager and she wants to just live a normal teen life. Scarlett was just all about "the hunt". I found myself being a little disappointed when it was time for her narration. That was the only thing on her mind!Though there were times I felt sorry for her. She was missing an eye from a Fenris attack and felt that hunting was all she had left since her beauty was taken.


All in all I recommend this audiobook to whoever wants to try one out. It has a lot of action, the accents are on point and will keep you making weird faces in public LOL. Unfortunately, I did smell the big ending coming a mile away, but the ride there was great.

My Two Cents:

 This is the sequel to Hearts at Stake. The first novel focused on Keiran and Solange. This new installment now focuses on Isabeau and Logan. Isabeau is fierce, angry, and a kick butt first ask questions later type of chick. She has a settle to score with the vampire who turned her into a vampire and left her for dead. That's her purpose....right? That is until she meets the biggest distraction in the hot Logan Drake. He's just too irresistible in his frocks that fit right in with the century she was actually born in.

As I said before, I love historical fiction and this gave us a good portion of it. It was narrated by both Logan and Isabeau. Isabeau's chapters told the story of her past and how she came to be a vampire. It's a heart wrenching narrative that tells of her good fortunes and her struggles. This became a crucial part of the novel, explaining why she was such a hard ass.


The "sexy" factor in book One was a bit stronger. However, the historical fiction aspect of this one brought something different to the novel that Hearts at Stake didn't have. The fighting in this one was also better.I can't wait to see what sexy Drake brother we'll focus on next.

My Two Cents:
 
Personally I didn't care so much for Camille even though she was the main character. She battled with listening to her heart and her head. Oscar I enjoyed very much. He knew what he wanted from the beginning...her. The seedy loan shark that they hooked up with along the way kept me in tears with laughter the whole way. I love characters such as him that hand it to you straight no chaser :) My biggest problem with this book is that it moved a bit slowed at times. The ending was a bit predictable as well. However this was a well written novel. It was very obvious that the author did a lot of research before tackling this time period.

I really love historical fiction so I was really excited to read this one. From reading this summary, I gathered it would be a sappy romance. This turned out to be a forbidden love story, turned adventure/mystery. There was definitely some romance but it was so much more to this than that. Frazier gives such great imagery as we follow Oscar and Camille all over Australia in the search for this ancient stone putting all the pieces together.

With characters that jump off the page at you whether you love them or hate them, this novel will keep you wanting more. I'm looking forward to Everlasting 2 to see what happens next.
