Halloween Readathon + Giveaway

Hey everyone! I'm finally back from my trip to Miami. Can I just say that it was BANANAS!!! Anywho, before I left I signed up for the Halloween Read-A-Thon hosted by Lesley @ Young Adult Books Reviewed.
This weekend I will be reading all scary/creepy books nonstop. I'm curious to see how many I can actually knock down. Here are my picks:

~She Smells the Dead by E.J. Stevens (already started so I'll continue from page 103)
~The Dead Girls' Dance (I loved the first one so I'm excited to finally get back into this series)
~The Twin's Daughter by Lauren Baratz-Logsted
~Branded (Fall of Angels) by Keary Taylor (already started so I'll continue from page 133)
~Low Red Moon by Ivy Devlin

There's still time to signup and you can start anytime (obviously because I'm late). Go HERE

I'm really hoping I can get through at least most of these being that I missed a day. I've also signed up to host a mini challenge in celebration of the read-a-thon. Now on to the giveaway!

I will be giving away this fabulous pair of Skull earrings being sold by Grigiodesign. This contest will end by tonight at 10/18 @ 12am. It is only open to US residents. You don't have to be a participant of the read-a-thon to enter but it would be nice. The challenge:

What's the scariest YA book you've ever read?

Leave me a comment with your answer email address. Good Luck!

  1. The scariest YA book that I have ever read would have to be The Devouring by Simon Holt. It was a great book but not a good one to read at night.

Thanks for the giveaway. Those earrings are super cute!

  2. I wish there were more scary YA books to be honest, but I would have to say the scariest one I have read is the Forest of Hands and Teeth. There were definitely some edge of your seat moments in that one.
I've heard The Reapers Are the Angels is pretty creepy, just picked that one up so we shall see =)
Can't wait to read the other answers cause I would love to get some scary YA!

  3. The scariest YA I've read is Sleepless by Thomas Fahy. After going on a field trip, a group of kids start killing each other. Creeeepy!
Thanks for participating, I really appreciate it :) I love those earrings too, very pretty.

  4. Hmmm..the scariest YA would probably be Carrie Ryan's two zombie books including "The Forest of Hands and Teeth" ...I have to admit I have yet to be "scared" by any book, YA or otherwise. However I have got some good suggestions from the Read-a-thon!

  5. I haven't read any really scary YA books because I get freaked out really easily :) Thanks for the giveaway!

  8. Battle Royale? If that counts..Very disturbing D:

  9. Im a King´s lover... the scariest books ave read are IT and Misery by Stephen King (IT was the scariest)

  10. For scary YA books, not including adult, I would say Peeps. It wasn't all that scary, but the science part of it gives you the creeps.

  11. The scariest YA book I've read was Nevermore by Kelly Creagh.

  12. I don't know if you'd consider it scary, I thought it was kind of creepy but I'd say Shadow Hills by Anastasia Hopcus.

  13. When I was younger the book that I thought was the creepiest was In The Forests of the Night by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. As I went back and read it as an older teenager. I realized that it wasnt as scary as I thought :D

    Thanks for the giveaway!

P.S. I sell complete blog layouts made by me thru blogger template. If you would be interested in one please email for the prices and I would be extremely thrilled to assist you!

  14. Hmmm, the scariest YA I've ever read was probably The Last Dog on Earth. I haven't read it for a long time, but I remember being pretty freaked out about it, and upset because I've got dogs so I took some of it pretty personally. I'm not sure if I'd find it scary now though. lol

    Thanks for the giveaway :)

  15. I blogged about this too, but I have to say the scariest book I've ever read is The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting. It's partially told from a serial killer's point of view! Yeah, definitely scary reading home alone at night. :)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  16. Definitely Sleepless by Thomas Fahy. I have horrible nightmares most every night, so this book really played into my reality. It is gruesome and bloody and full of mayhem. You should read it!

And, I LOVE those earrings! Thanks for the giveaway.

  17. Thanks for hosting great contest, Id have to say the Forest of Hands and teeth by carrie ryan :)

  18. I don't like scary books! Scary stuff freaks me out. The Hunger Games series was probably the scariest I've read in awhile...those Tracker Jackers are freaky!!

    I love those earrings!!

  19. Those earrings rock. I just read The House of Dead Maids by Clare B. Dunkle which scared me a little more than I was expecting!

  20. I haven't read a lot of scary YA, most of the scary stuff I read is adult. While its not traditional scary, though, I'd have to chose Another Faust by Daniel & Dina Nayeri. The things that their caretaker gets them to do, and even the way that the story ends, are definitely creepy.

  21. I don't normally like to read scary stuff but I just finished The Forest of Hands and Teeth and there were some parts that freaked me out. I'm getting ready to start The Replacement and I hear it's creepy.

  22. The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff was pretty creepy in some parts.

  23. Probably The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan.

  24. Rhe creepest book ive read was Peeps. But it was really good. Great giveaway. dffinatly halloweenie :)

  25. I haven't read any scary books other than Low Red Moon by Ivy Devlin so I will go with that one as my answer. However I am dying to read The Forest of Hands and Teeth.
